The Promise is a tragic real-life wartime story. Not all love stories have happy ending, and sometimes they involve more than two people, several families, and several countries. This is an excellent movie for anyone interested in history and untold personal stories.
It reminds us how men with powerful government positions can distroy an empire, start world war, and kill millions of people.
