Review of The Promise (2017) by Kristin C — 23 Apr 2017
Beautiful cinematography, epic love story, historically accurate drama consistent with eyewitness reports and survivors stories. The love triangle engages because it's not the typical Hollywood exercise in machismo where the two men fight over the woman.
Instead, it's part of the tragedy that all three genuinely like and respect each other but forces outside their control intervene. In an act of censorship a foreign government has tried to keep us from seeing this movie.
