Review of The Promise (2017) by Georgia K — 30 Apr 2017
Loved this movie! So inspirational plus the cinematography is truly beautiful. It portrays a part of Constantinople's history not to mention it shows the beauty of the city itself before it was conquered & decimated by the Turkish government and military.
I wish Hollywood would give it the attention, response & support that it deserves. The systematic extermination of millions of Armenians, Greeks, and Russians in Turkey at the time was horrific and has been covered up in our history books for too long.
.. if this had been about the Jewish Holocaust it would have been noted as Oscar worthy ... this is a story that needs to be finally heard & addressed ...
