Review of The Promise (2017) by Doug A — 01 May 2017
I'm sometimes amazed that the professional critics can score a film 50 yet the audience, us included, will give it a 95. And yes, there is a recurring love triangle set at the core of this gorgeous, important film about the extermination of the Armenians in Turkey in the 19teens and the way citizens were caused to flee their homes in vast numbers during WWI.
We thought it was a fabulous film. The theatre was virtually empty in West Palm Beach.
