Review of The Producers (1968) by Bryce C — 29 Jan 2008
Overall, the movie had a pleasant energy that is expected but appreciated from a "musical" type film. But I think this was made before it became a musical, right? Because there really wasn't much music.
Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder were a great pair, and the side characters like the drag queen and the concierge of the apartment building were a hoot. But the Oscar would have to go to the fellow that played Hitler.
My gosh, he was worth watching the entire film. Heil the Producers...kind of.
