Review of The Producers (1968) by Todd S — 14 Sep 2008
Time has dulled the edge of this comedy about a scheme to get rich by producing the worst play ever (Springtime for Hitler). Most of the comedy falls flat now and well a Hitler musical was cutting edge comedy in 1968 (23 years after the end of the Second World War) in 2008 (63 years after the Fall of the Third Reich) its not enough to carry the movie.
Still Kennith Mars' Nazi Franz Liebkind is so batshit insane you can't help but enjoy every scene he's in.
