Review of The Producers (1968) by Anna T — 24 Jan 2010
Watching the remake first is never the best idea. This original felt lacking, and I was constantly comparing it with the one I saw. A quick google search will inform you that the movie does, in fact, lack scenes that would have been too controversal or were deleted out. However, I enjoyed a few choice lines.
I would find this movie a bit more fascinating in studying culture and the changes in film and so such of what is socially acceptable and not, then for content itself.
Still, four stars for a bravo at its time :D.
