Review of The Producers (1968) by Kate H — 22 Sep 2010
I saw this for the first time with a friend during a snow day and we laughed the whole way through. Not just chuckling, mind you, I mean full out rolling on the floor crying laughing. It is simply fantastic and probably my favourite Mel Brooks film.
Gene Wilder stands out for me as the neurotically lovable Leo Bloom. His freak out when Bialystock takes his blanket away is cinematic brilliance.
