Review of The Producers (1968) by Gary H — 22 May 2011
Probably the most original, classic Mel Brooks film out there, The Producers not only stands out as a hilarious fim, but also becomes a very nostalgic movie as well. I loved Gene Wilder's great role as the "little innocent business accountant".
What makes a movie like this rememberable, is the fact that Brooks took the holocaust, and turned it around by making it this goofy play. The remake is no where as near good as this original classic, but unless you'd rather watch the"updated" version be my guest.
However, if your looking for something much superior, definitely check the 1960's Producers out instead. The Producers is a true Mel Brooks classic!
