Prodigal Son is a brilliant piece of Kung Fu cinema. Biao has extreme physicality and Hung provides a stark contrast between comedy and drama that could never be pulled off in Hollywood. The fight scenes are plenty and showcase some of the best moves that Wing Chun has to offer.

The direction is superb and the make-up (as fake as it looks) is played realistically. The one small downside is how violent the last fight is with blood gushing from a guys head like a faucet. The comedy is not of Western styling, either, which could be a detriment or plus depending on the viewer.

Still, what more can you ask for in a Kung Fu movie?
