Review of The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes (1970) by Glyn J — 09 Jun 2007
The great shame about Wilder's modern take on Conan Doyle is that the concieved four-story 3-hours plus film was reduced to a two-story 2-hour film by the studio. What we're left with therefore seems a little rushed and uneven, but still a great Wilder-Diamond script and a nice sense of foggy Victorian England and Scotland.
