Review of The Princess Bride (1987) by Eytan D — 31 Mar 2013
"Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." God, I love this movie! Major props to Rob Reiner and William Goldman for modernizing the classic fairy tale with enough humor, romance, and action to satisfy all ages.
The cast is perfect. Robin Wright and Cary Elwes are a stellar storybook couple, and Mandy Patinkin demands the screen whenever he's on camera with Andre the Giant. Wallace Shawn, Peter Falk, and others are spectacular too.
The main reason to check this one out is Billy Crystal and Carol Kane's cameos alone. They pack enough laughs to pack three movies, and all in a simple 5-6 minutes.
