Review of The Princess and the Frog (2009) by Sahara K — 07 Jan 2013
I loved the animation for this movie. Although all Disney animation is great if not excellent comparing this to previous 2D traditional animation, that of which this is the first since 2004, you could really see how much it has improved, shown with the water effects.
the sequence for 'Freinds on the other side' also had stunning animation reminiscent of the dream sequence in 'Dumbo', as well as being an awesome song. The rest of the songs in the movie where not as flamboyant however, where still good and still added to the tone of the film making it feel really natural, like the lower key Disney films such as 'The Aristocats' and 'Pocahontas'.
The characters where all fun to watch and unlike most Disney films the protagonist didn't want to fall in love and wanted to focus on her dream job instead which I think makes a good role model for the kids watching this.
A good film overall and I hope that Disney creates more films using the method of what made this one.
