Review of The Prince of Tides (1991) by Liam D — 18 Aug 2007
A jumbled film which never quite seems to decide what it's trying to say or where it's trying to go until the very end when it turns into a testament on sacrafice. Nick Nolte excels as the tough small town guy with hidden depths and Streisand does well enough in her stab at acting/directing.
Things only really start to heat up towards the end as revelations and twists come thick and fast but the final ending is a suprising and sad one which propels the film into a higher class than you would of originally thought.
