Review of The Prince of Tides (1991) by Bj E — 21 Jan 2009
My biggest tear-jerker movie ever. Nolte plays the ultimate tortured soul with deep-rooted traumas. He so desparately wants to freely love his wife, his parents, his siblings, the South and himself. Yet, each has various boundaries.
When he falls for Streisand's character it looks like it just might finally be the unconditional love he seeks. Instead, it becomes the ultimate sacrifice he makes in persuit of the other loves in his life.
