Review of The Prince of Tides (1991) by Greg C — 13 Dec 2010
Almost everything about this movie is completely preposterous, from the overblown faux Tennessee Williams Southern angst to the claws on the psychiatrist, to the Southern male rape victim who is not homophobic at all. Oh man, it would take a second viewing to really absorb the absurdity.
Additionally, I'm not convinced Barbra Streisand was actually in it. Show me some evidence that wasn't a person doing a pretty poor impression of Babs.
Overall, a slow and unconvincing story.
