Review of The Prince of Egypt (1998) by Melissa R — 11 Sep 2009

By far the best version of any bible story told on screen. while it has moments of comedy it also has a certain realism to it that older non animated versions seem to lack in their pious nature. while it is about god it is also heavily about moses as an average human being and his relationship with his brother (not by blood) rameses.

it's also about him carrying the regret of killing another man. you see him take on his responsibility as if burdened by it. yes, I liked this very much. it's a sad day when childrens/family animation has more grit and realism about it than anything epic biblical films with actors can throw at us.

the eqyptian priests were welcome viewing too... haha!
