Review of The Prince of Egypt (1998) by Tehe T — 08 Jul 2014
I'm a sucker for all things related to ancient egypt and the biblical moses tale. People seem to forget Dreamworks also did animated musicals and this was IMO their best release back in the 90s. Definitely comparable to the epicness that is How to Train Your Dragon.
Seriously an underappreciated film. I recently rewatched this because I miss the awesome Han Zimmer-composed soundtrack that came with it. Oh yeah dont forget the pop version song by Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston which is just lovely and less annoying than that Titanic song.
Breathtaking animation for its time (3D and paintings). It's that good that I don't think the upcoming live action Ridley-Scott Exodus film of the same story could ever top this.
