It's no Ten Commandments, but as a children's movie, it'll do the trick. But as a musical, damn is there good music in this movie.

The story of Moses is now animated! But with some slight differences to appeal to a younger audience. Moses and his brother Ramsis are 2 of a kind, always causing trouble in Egypt but faithful to their father, The Pharaoh. But when Moses discovers he is a Hebrew, the vary people who are Egypt's slaves, Moses finds himself in a personal crissis when he goes into the desert and discovers himself and his god. And the rest you probably know. Like I said, this ain't no Charlton Heston Moses, this Moses is childish, emotional, and well..... whiny. It's not the most appealing Moses, but it gets it's message across a lot better as a children's movie this way. It's about the message for the selected audience. But this movie does make a dramatical punch once in a while, being more violent than you're regular kids movie. But a good change was the image of Ramsis, being less of a villian and more of a loving brother that pains himself to wage war on his own brother in order to be like his father and keep the Egyptian traditions.

Now here's a good looking animated movie. Capturing beautiful detail and colour to the image of the movie throughout. The mix of colours and the style of which it's presented is very impressive. But not only that, but there are any very cool scenes which the animation is crafted amazingly. (example: when the river turns to blood, and the parting of the Red Sea) This is top notch animation for a '90s movie right here. This is a musical right away, so a lot of stock is put upon the songs and music, given this is an epic story. But rest assure, not only is the music great, it's amazing. The original score makes a great impact on the scenes, and every song in this movie is well written, catchy and emotional. There's not a single dull song in this movie. And that's just great.

With an all star cast of voices who do a great job, this movie makes for great entertainment. It might not be as epic as Charlton Heston's movie, and some differences in characters and story might seem odd in comparison, but it's not ment to be like that. The Prince of Egypt is a kids movie with a great religious message, amazing music, and still appealing for all ages.
