Review of The Prince of Egypt (1998) by Cayla I — 13 Jun 2011
I'm not religious, but that doesn't in any way mean that I can't appreciate this story of the struggle between a higher calling and person emotion, of bringing a suffering people out of the chains of oppression.
I appreciate it in spades, making this easily one my favorite animated films. It may take itself a bit seriously at points for being a kids film, but since it's based on a key aspect of the faith of roughly three billion people and deals with the topics of slavery and infanticide/genocide.
..the seriousness is not only understandable, but expected.
