Review of The Prince of Egypt (1998) by Jacob G — 05 Sep 2012
Largely flawed, cutting corners and plays it safe at times, but the best adaptation possible out of this medium will likely get for a long time. The first half is a massive hurdle to get through, populated with moments of corniness and goofball that are almost unforgivable. But it sets the tone and character development of how far Moses gone from negligent boy to become the liberator of the slaves. Then it goes into the sublime the second half with some of the most "Biblical" samples of animation in history.
First half: 3.5/5.
2nd half: 5/5.
