Review of The Prince of Egypt (1998) by Jackson W — 14 Aug 2013

It surprises me how little people talk about this film, given that I've always regarded it as one of the best of its kind and a classic. They have their own little animated world that I always like to visit, the characters are seriously into their roles (even the celebrity hotshots succeed without being cheesy or too modern), and the music is fantastic.

I imagine sort of something like Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat if this was a Broadway show, but for now it's basically the Ten Commandments for kids, which makes it really good. I'm glad that at least some give this the credit it deserves instead of knocking the movie simply because it's religious and had faith in God in mind.
