Review of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (1969) by Alastair M — 03 Jun 2007
The film starts off as what might seem like a dated inspirational teacher-student drama. It soon develops into a very complex, stark character study where the audience's sympathies are occasionally challenged.
Film presents us with multi-dimensional characters and impressive make up, costume and filming techniques employed make the aging of Brodie's students very convincing. Smith's performance is predictably immaculate.
