Review of The Pride of the Yankees (1942) by Stephen C — 31 Aug 2007
Gary Cooper as Lou Gehrig at first was an odd choice. He seemed too old to convince me that he is the great Lou Gehrig of the "Death Row". But seeing how much of an accomplished actor Gary Cooper was, I completely bought out that it was HIM. This is a film that truly honours Lou's stunning accomplishments as a ball player, and as a human being. I recommend this film to anyone who seeks a true inspiration from the inspiration himself, Lou Gehrig.
"Today, I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth".
