Watching it now, even though I have the tissues ready for the end. This is a great B&W movie that is a sports movie and a chick flick. I read that it was nominated for 11 Academy nominations and only won one for best editing.
Also that Lou was left handed; but Gary was right handed. And was out 2 yrs after his death. I love these old movies -- the ladies shoes, the hats, the classic fashion.
