Review of The Pride and the Passion (1957) by Jonathan A — 22 Jan 2008
The real star of this film is the super giant cannon. This over the top mcguffin has to be transported through many obstacles and enemy territory in order to successfully breach a wall in a fortress so that tyranny can be driven from the land.
Then there are the three money stars in the film to lend a hand with the action. Historical accuracy and how it ends is unimportant. The action in getting there is what this is all about.
