I'm not sure why the Tomatometer was so much lower than the audience rating. This is a very, very good film. One critic wrote all these great things about the production just to trash it in the end because "the magicians themselves are cold and devious, and the chill permeates the whole film.

" I don't think he got the film or understood the characters well enough. I also think you can enjoy beguiling characters, especially ones whose job it is to deceive.
