Review of The Prestige (2006) by Sean M — 03 Apr 2013
The greatest director of our generation, Christopher Nolan's underrated 2006 'The Prestige' is by far one of my favorite movies of all time. Throughout this movie there's a palatable sense of purpose, each flashback crucial to the overall premise.
The acting is of highest caliber, with Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman at their finest, and for each moment of this film I feel a part of an epic tale, which is my top characteristic of a film's impact and mastery.
After watching I spent time pondering the moral (which isn't too hard to grasp) of the story not because I lacked understanding, but because every time I watch this film I get a sense that it needed telling.
When you combine the action, the love, and the dark parts, it comes out to be one of the greatest.
