Review of The Pregnancy Pact (2010) by Borhan K — 02 Jul 2011
Pregnancy pact is a movie that is based on a true story about a group of friends that make a promise to all fall pregnant and have kids at the same time. THe movie try to show many views of this story but not focused on the pact part of it although that was the main reason for them having kids.
The director try to show the different consequences that young teen mums will face and its not all happy families and what the prince charming movies depict but about the reality of the choices made by these young girls and guys.
10 years of being a youth worker and trying to help young people with choices where it be about pregnancy or drugs or many other aspects that effect young people the main thing I tried to relay across was to show the different choices the young person has and they make the choice for themselves for what fits them best.
Is it worth watching this film I think mothers and fathers with teens should watch this movie with their teens and have a open non judgmental discussion about this issue or any issue that their young teen girl or boy has and are or maybe afraid to talk to their parents about.
I know that their are religious points of view about this whole issue but if you have to face it face it and try to be open for all choices. Personally when I have spoken to young people about this I have made them think about the different things that they will face and also discuss their religious moral background and ask them why do you think that they say what they say.
Honestly watch this movie and make up your own mind on where you stand on this topic.
