Shane Black missed what was the most important aspect of the original Predator and it was the mystery involved in the actual Predator as a superior alien species by being a cloaked killer and his presence everywhere.
The species even though genetically enhanced and technologically more advanced than the humans was rendered useless by the collaboration of a bunch of military misfits adding the clichè references to the original Predator.
For aficionados of sci-fi and Predator novels Spoiler alert: the ending goes against all aspects of what the Predators are as a culture of being killers and acted on compassion by helping the humans. This movie is a complete disappointment.
