Review of The Predator (2018) by Berik — 05 Nov 2018
Perhaps this movie is interesting for a new adience, but for people who like the original Predator from 1987 it is a massive slap in the face. It is a cobbled together mess of CGI, MCU inspired gadgets, a very poorly chosen story and above all else, it makes Batman Forever look like shakespeare.
Characters: Not memorable, expendable, out of place, but they were funny.
Predators: Looked like the AvP hunters, which instantly ruined the verociousness and legacy of the original Predator movies.
Story: The background story isn't that bad thought out, but the execution made me cringe.
I can only blame one man for this abomination, and that's Shane Black.
Garbage, absolute garbage. But we have to be fair. It is 2/10 in my book. Hadn't the jokes and somewhat interesting background story saved it, it would have been a 1/10.
