Review of The Predator (2018) by Patty%20 F — 12 Oct 2018
This was the surprise of the month. The Predator is packed with all the blood, gore and guts you expected to see in Venom, the camaraderie of psychos promised in Suicide Squad with the raw adult humor you would have thougth would be in The Expendables.
The Predator gives a 180* spin on the franchise, being very different from the original movie in therms of style and dialogue, but manages to entertain you with lots of action sequences, alien figthing and body parts flying around.
They went for the R rating and they used it as much as they could. Yes, there are some absurdities, like a scientific woman suddenly becoming G I Jane, a lobotomized space dog and absolutely no travel time between locations, besides the cliché of the genious autistic boy that saves the day, but the main characters are really lovable, and it makes you feel bad for them when they are killed.
Just a good movie to watch if you want your dose of barbaric alien slaugther. Oh and the new alien design os pretty badass!
