Review of The Preacher's Wife (1996) by Bill T — 26 Mar 2011
I didnt think this movie was all that great the first time I saw it several years ago, and having since recently seeing Bishops Wife and loving it, I thought there was no way I was going to like this. But watching it again, it does have it's charms.
Mind you Courtenay B Vance is no David Niven, but Denzel Washington could give Cary Grant a run for his money. Whitney Houston is pretty good as well. The script is not all that great though, and I felt for Washington in some of the more smarmy scenes.
It's still passable, but hardly overtakes the original.
