Review of The Poughkeepsie Tapes (2007) by Rocco G — 12 Aug 2010
I had hear about this film a long time ago and thought it was canelled after not hearing anything further. I found the complete movie online and decided to give it a try. I have to say that I enjoyed it.
If this movie was released in theaters, I can honestly say it would flop big time. However, for a horror flick that was produced on such a small budget and was never meant to be a huge box-office success, the film succeeds in being extremely creepy at some points and providing a good hour and a half of entertainment.
Some of the things that the killer in the film does are extremely disturbing, and it is scary to think of, never mind watch. I think the overall way the film looks (grainly, like home videos), adds to the effect, even though you know all along that these videos are in no way real.
