Review of The Poughkeepsie Tapes (2007) by Elizabeth M — 11 May 2011
Now that was a brilliant horror film. Chilling from beginning to end. I can't explain any of the really clever bits without spoiling them, so I'm going to warn you now SPOILERS AHEAD.
The killer in this movie is so brilliant he manages to FRAME A POLICE OFFICER for being him. The cop gets executed, murder by justice system. The ending has one of the FBI profilers say "I'll tell you this, if you ever release this movie in theatres he won't be able to help himself, he'll go see it like five or six times. We'll keep an eye on screenings for that, because he'll be there." I have never seen a horror movie effectively say "THE KILLER IS RIGHT BEHIND YOU!" to me before.
