Review of The Post (2017) by Katherine M — 13 Jan 2018
Loved it. A fantastically told story in which Spielberg got out of his own way (mostly) and showed us what this was all about. With very little of the pedantic moralizing that can be so grating in a Spielberg film, The Post shines by relying on excellent writing, pacing, acting, and the truth.
It additionally deftly showcases the sexism of the time without banging it over our heads. The audience I was a part of erupted in applause at least 3 times while watching this film. It was riveting and incredibly timely.
