Review of The Post (2017) by Mike L — 14 Jan 2018
In this time with the free press under fire by this president and administration it reassuring to view a film that takes us back to the Nixon White House trying to shut down the Pentagon Papers. The subtext is women (in this case Kay Graham owner & publisher of the Washington Post) being overlooked and not valued.
Toni Bradlee (Sarah Paulson) has a smallpowerful speech where she tells Ben Bradlee( Tom Hanks) how Graham is putting everything she has on the line to publish the Pentagon Papers and how Kay has been belittled all these years.
What she has to lose is everything. The cast is excellent headed by Streep (I do think Tom Hanks is miscast.).
