Review of The Post (2017) by Sandy E — 28 Jan 2018
Creamy cinematography and a deliberate nervousness in the peripheral cast combine to emphasise the tenuousness of the paper's position. Around the main cast, performances are a little more obvious.
The camera steps in to lend a hand, with the small Streep of the first act surrounded by monolithic men, only to dwarf them with her climactic speech later on. It's like a well kept leather boot, perfect for a long walk on the hillside.
