Review of The Post (2017) by Aaron M — 11 Feb 2018
The most exciting movie about newspapers I've ever watched. Seeing Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks riff off each other in one of the early scenes was just pure magic - it's as if Spielberg setup a single camera and said, "ok you two, do your thing" and just left the pair to it.
Streep is accustomed to playing strong female characters, but this role was of a woman with enormous self-doubt, and Streep pulled it off with ease. One can also not ignore the relevance of the subject material to the political landscape of 2018.
A very thought-provoking movie.
