Review of The Post (2017) by Compi24 — 12 Jan 2018
Three of entertainment's biggest names unite for what's supposed to be one of journalism's greatest untold stories. But unfortunately for Hanks, Spielberg, and Streep, everything in "The Post" only shakes out to being just fine in the end.
Sure, the acting is quite good, the subject matter is mostly interesting, and Spielberg's directorial abilities are nowhere close to being questioned. But with similar movies like "All The President's Men," "The Insider," and "Spotlight" already being in the realm of cinematic existence, you can't help but get a cold kind of "been there, done that" air from this film in particular.
