Review of The Post (2017) by Martin A — 13 Jan 2018
She says, lets go..
The Post.
Feeling proud of her work and decisions all thorough this big controversy, Meryl stands folding her hands along with Tom Hanks, who then impersonates her; this is where Spielberg excels as he knows the star power that he possess in this project. But beyond a big star cast, The Post runs low on drama and more on the facts which may result into resembling it to a documentary. Meryl's character seems a bit stretched and unfortunately she is not in her A game; she is good but not her best considering Tom Hanks who overpowers the actors surrounding him. Spielberg takes too much to time to sink his teeth in and just plots out the characters and tracks on the first half while on the other side the second half is more thrilling and intense since there is a sense of urgency in it; the good old race against time factor.
