Review of The Possession (2012) by Daniel M — 18 Jan 2013
Different than expected, in a good way. Intriguing and original premise met with a decent execution. I felt as though the fear factor was a bit watered-down in some ways, merely to keep in compliance with the restrictions of a PG-13 rating. Still, this film does have its moments.
'The Possession' was, all in all, handled very well by its writers and cast. That isn't always a guarantee, especially in the way of exorcism/ possession-themed horror films. I do give all involved credit for breathing some new life into a done-to-death sub genre.
I will not call 'The Possession' a "must-see" but it is a decent, fresh supernatural horror film. Check it out if that's your cup of tea.
