Review of The Possession (2012) by Orlando O — 18 Jan 2013
A divorced man who spoils his daughters and buys a antique box that daughter really wanted turns out to be a dybbuk. The story of the movie was quite haunting with the concept of a dybbuk box possessing anyone who comes into contact with and wanting to take control of there body.
The cast gave a decent performance. The movie did have its moments of a creepy atmosphere and a few disturbing scenes from teeth falling out. The movie also did fail to deliver when it came to the climax.
The climax that was filled with lots of flashing lights as a dybbuk was crawling on the floor. It could have been better depicted and provide a stronger intensity moment without having lots of lights flashing.
The ending could have been done a little more haunting but ended up being a little too abrupt.
