Based on Paul Gallico's novel , THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE , this movie ios a must watch ! Paul Gallico's inspiration for the novel is from his experience on The RMS QUEEN MARY , where a small tidal wave had hit it.
If the ship had listed a bit more , it would have capsized. Ironically , the ship used for the movie is QUEEN MARY. A really killer disaster movie at its time , it is defintely nicer than the remake in 2006 , WOLFGANG PETERSON'S POSEIDON.
