Review of The Poseidon Adventure (1972) by Eric B — 19 Jun 2009

I saw these movies in reverse chronological order. The latest one was alright and so I thought, just maybe, this would be a good movie. It had a pretty decent cast, and John Williams did the music. Unfortunately, it wasn't much better than the other two.

There were some good things about it. This movie has better character development than the most recent and even dives a little bit into the theology pool, but overall it isn't that great. The latest movie is more suspenseful and is more well written.

In this movie, the dialogue is pretty bad, and so is the acting. Also, there were a ton of things that I just couldn't believe. I'm forgiving with these kinds of movies on the realism factor but this one got out of control.

For example, the scene where Mrs. Rosen dies is just ridiculous and come to think of it basically the entire ending. 1.
