Review of The Poseidon Adventure (1972) by Lucy S — 16 Jul 2009
Irwin Allen practically invented the disaster genre. In that genre, "Poseidon" is one of the best, and certainly classic. The cast is amazing, which is normally the case for Irwin Allen films, and Gene Hackman always demands the most from his audience.
Some people often complain about his character, of a preacher with some grit, but it's this that often makes the film standout even more. - 4 Stars.
