Review of The Portrait of a Lady (1996) by Nadia C — 06 Oct 2010
A very elegant and refined movie like the most part of Campion's movies. Isabel is a strong feminine figure: she's independent and intelligent(Kidman was extraordinary). I wanted to see the movie, because I like Campion's films(at least those I saw "The Piano" and "Bright Star").I love the setting, usually they are always set in the countryside. The protagonists are almost always women, wonderful women.
I admit that the movie was monotonous in some parts, but I enjoyed it.
