Review of The Pope of Greenwich Village (1984) by Bradley B — 02 May 2009
Intriguing characters and a wonderful use of New York as a backdrop for this 80s crime caper story. Rourke is fantastic and now I realize what was "resurrected" in The Wrestler. Roberts gives a great performance as well as his dim witted but loyal friend Paulie.
This little film is a gem and exactly the kind of movie you want to curl up and watch on a rainy Saturday.
