My initial thought was to write a less generous review of this film, but my mind has constantly been returning to it this past day, trying to work through problems that the film left me with. What I have come to realize is that this is actually quite a good movie, largely because it does shift from a straight-forward plot into a more opaque, unconventional narrative that requires the viewer to question everything he or she has seen beforehand.

It's one of those stories that lends itself well to a range of possible interpretations, so be prepared to receive that challenge if you decide to give this one a try. I feel that I have a pretty solid explanation for what the film is about, but I won't dispute that there are other plausible alternatives as well.

My suggestion to anyone who will see this is to view events symbolically, as opposed to processing every precise development literally. That should make what is happening seem less confusing. It is a remarkable examination of the creative writing process that writers explore.

Yet another reminder that independent films don't aspire to please everyone.
