Review of The Pool (2001) by Katie B — 14 Oct 2007
What a let down. A movie I had heard much about and was really looking forward to, but ultimately is utterly pointless and a waste of time. The cinematography is pretty decent, the acting is fine (though Charlotte Rampling is a bit annoying for the first third) and the music occasionally distracts.
On the positives - the twist is intriguing, but not enough to make the film feel like it was worth the effort, and there's a healthy dose of nudity and sex scenes. One of the most over-rated films of recent times.
